To say this is a big moment is an understatement.
If you’re new here, I was essentially thrust into the world of solo-preneurship thanks mostly to the Pandemic.& if you know me you know I don’t do anything half-a$$ed… SO, Why not start a business, launch a podcast, & raise a tiny human all at the same time in the midst of a Pandemic?! Sounds like an awesome plan right?
& it WAS!
In the past year on my Podcast, I’ve gotten to:
- Speak with 35 amazing entrepreneurs
- Published 50 episodes
- Make a handful of blog posts thanks to my amazing Copywriter
- Experienced the feeling of 1500 downloads
I’ll be here celebrating for a hot second.

So what did I learn in my First Year of Podcasting?
1. HOLY SMOKES a Podcast is another Business!
WOW – the organization, the systems, the strategy, the time effort & energy that goes into a podcast production & existence… wow. If I can do it, you can too!
Be sure you have a way to ORGANIZE your process from intake of guest interest all the way through editing, posting to your podcast publisher, & promoting through your email or social media. I personally used ClickUp & it was quite easy!
2. I LOVE speaking to & connecting with other entrepreneurs
This has been my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE part of having a Podcast. I’ve gotten to speak with so many empowering, impactful, amazing entrepreneurs that I look up to & quite frankly, this has been a major stepping stone in my business. As someone who doesn’t necessarily LOVE an in-person networking event, having a captive audience in a speaker on my podcast was fab for me lol.
3. The first season won’t be your best & that’s ok!
Just like with ANYTHING, your first go won’t be the one. LOL. Sorry if that stings a bit or you think you’re different than everyone else – which is so true, but for the sake of this go with me – your first ANYTHING is what it is, it’s the ones that come after that that show your growth, your blossoming, & your commitment to keeping on, learning & providing even more value for your listeners. Heck, when I launched the podcast it was called the Daily Squish Report… so, we can say there’s been some changes around here. lol.
4. Podcasts ARE easier than you think to create & launch
They seem daunting, but with the right publishing platform & support, they are WAY easier than you think. With today’s technology, & a decent recording + editing software, you’ll be good to go!
5. Podcasts can be WHATEVER you want them to be
Want to do a daily 1 minute affirmation? Do it. Want to talk for hours or offer masterclasses in podcast form? Also, GO FOR IT. Do what you want & love every MF second of it! You deserve all that & more!
So I said all that to say, if you’e been considering adding a Podcast to the mix, don’t over think it, but also don’t take it too haphazardly. It is a time commitment, BUT if I can do it, so can you.
