If you have been trying to market your business or conduct business online for more than 5 minutes, you already know that content is KING and the #1 way you’ll be able to connect with your Ideal Client. BUT if you are like every single client I’ve worked with, you’ve probably struggled to consistently create content that your ideal client actually wants to see. Don’t worry, I’ve got a solution for you.
Read on through to learn my 5 step process to create content that your ideal client actually craves and save time doing it.
But first, pin this for later!
Step 1: Ditch your Content Pillars/buckets…
Ignore the content pillars/ content bucket philosophies. It’s true. Lots of content creators and educators teach that you should create different categories of content. Some use the word “pillars”, some use the word “categories”. The general idea is that you talk about different subject matters in your content and rotate through them.
I actually used to teach this myself, but have since found a better way that is more effective for my clients and my own content creation process. Ready to learn the method that works so much better than Content Pillars and Buckets?
Step 2: Create 3 Types of Content: Viral, Value, and Virtue
Value content includes anything that offers VALUE to your ideal client. Think How to’s, Tips, Hacks, and Tricks of the Trade. FYI: This type of content also includes your goods or services! What value do you provide to your clients? How can you help them solve their biggest ‘problems? How can they buy from you? If they don’t know how to work with you, they never will.
Viral content is content that is highly likely to be shared! This is usually content that makes your ideal client feel seen! She feels seen so she shares it, and her friends feel seen and they share it too. Viral content is highly valuable to your overall content strategy and will get your name and content in front of new eyes.
Viral content is usually your stuff that’s super easy to consume. The reader doesn’t have to use very much brainpower to read it and understand what you are trying to say.
Virtue content connects the reader to your mission, your passion, and your journey. This type of content is why people rally behind causes. This is why Toms’s shoes is even in business. They were able to sell simple shoes at a higher price point because people connected with their mission.
Virtue content also showcases the transformation your clients walk through by working with you. They transform from point a (their problem) to point b (your solution) & can easily include reviews of your services
Try to use words here that describe how your clients feel before and after working with you!

Step 3: Brainstorm Ideas
Open up a blank document and start writing out ideas. Think about your client’s pain points, the core values that you, as a brand, stand behind. What is your client’s desired outcome from working with you? What problems do you solve for them? What do you wish your clients knew and understood? What things have you learned that would make their life easier or better? What questions have potential or past clients asked you? (pro tip: use their verbiage!)
Lots of brainstorming of ideas happens in the Wildly You Membership – where entrepreneurs find high-ticket coaching style support for their business & social media needs, at a low ticket price. Sign up for the waitlist here.
In addition to multiple weekly threads for content review, accountability, support, & more, we have multiple guest expert trainings monthly, PLUS group Q&A Strategy sessions to help you REALLY move the needle forward in your business. We hope to see you in the Membership soon!
Step 4: Schedule time to plan out your posts
Instead of sitting down to write out a new post or new idea every single day, schedule a day and time to create a large amount of content and then schedule it to post. Planoly is our favorite paid tool (for team use) to schedule content over here. And if it’s just you, Creator Studio by Facebook is a FABULOUS resource as well.
And if you are REALLY ready to get an entire year’s worth of customized content that converts for $97 and just a few hours of your time, the Dynamic Content Generator is the perfect tool for you.
Step 5: Give yourself grace
Consistency looks different for every single person and every single audience. Don’t let the comparison game push you down and make you feel like you’re not good enough or doing a good enough job. Your best is good enough. Just keep showing up.
And that’s it! That’s the general overview of how I create valuable content for my own audience, for my client’s audiences, and how I teach my students to create content for their audience. If you have any questions drop them below and we would be happy to help. And if you are ready to always have something ready to post, grab the Dynamic Content Generator. It’s a steal of a deal and will help you generate customized content ideas that actually connect you with your audience.
