I know you know your trees. You’re a foiliage and forestry MASTER, right?! lol… probably not, but you know enough about Christmas trees to know that ‘evergreen’ means always fresh, always green… That’s exactly what this content is for you.
so fresh. so green.

Evergreen Content
Evergreen content is content that is READY TO GO! It’s the BFF that has your back when maybe you were slammed with client work this week and you need SOMETHING-ANYTHING to post. Well, here comes Suzie, she’s ole reliable and ready to STILL GIVE VALUE to your audience… Even if they’ve already consumed her content. It’s still relevant. Reliable. Helpful.

Just like Amelia (^) with her favorite toy… a cat toy. She doesn’t care that the content is for the cat. She still wants it cuz it’s relevant to her. It’s crinkly, shiny, fits in her hand. Fills all her needs at that moment… so she wants to ‘consume’ the item and play with it, engage with it… See? This is the same for creating your social media content. Create the ‘cat toys!’… Is that comparison reaching? Maybe, but she’s cute so you let it work. lol
Evergreen Content retains relevance, is not time sensitive, and continues to drive traffic to your {insert endgame here}. Having evergreen content is the easiest way to continue to share your brand, without being stressed! That stress free life is what we are ALL about, amiright?!
So, in a nutshell, to create ‘Evergreen’ content, when possible, leave out details that will quickly date your posts or render them completely irrelevant in a short time frame.
EXAMPLES:
- 5 Tips for staging your home to sell
in 2020 - How to grow your Instagram
in 2019
Both of these titles still hold value without the date quantifiers. (IG one might be out dated DEPENDING on your stance for growth… if it’s like mine, that ish is never outdated *wink*)
The greatest benefit of evergreen content is that it is most likely to be shared on social media, meaning more eyes on your page, greater positioning, and generating new leads to your website or blog.
When creating evergreen posts, think about the search terms and phrases that a reader may use to seek information.

How to come up 3 months worth of evergreen content (posting 3x/week):
- Whip out your buckets of topics! (5-6)
- Create 5 post ideas for each topic
- Create captions for each post
- Create the media/image necessary for post
BOOM! 30 posts ready. & If you subscribe to the method of thinking like we have been lately – RE: posting less = more, investing in quality content over quantity and showing up actively, daily in smaller, more raw modes (like stories), You’ve positioned yourself for MONTHS worth of content! I like to store mine in my Trello Template for content organization. You can download yours here.
Now add in 20% (6) trending relevant seasonal content and your social media content is organized and ready to post for the next month. You can easily search national ‘day’ calendars or upcoming events in your own life you’d like to share with your audience.
