Hold onto your pants, folks. This Instagram fangirl is about to blow your minds and tell you there’s a new sheriff in town!
Pinterest: Why this sleeper agent needs to be on your priority list…
We know I love instagram – It’s my #1 scrolling VIP love. BUT it’s not the moneymaker.
- Do you have a blog?
- Do you have an email list?
- Do you have a freebie?
- Do you have a Facebook Group?
- Do you have an offer you’re selling?
- People are searching VISUALLY on pinterest… so if you have a product to sell, GET IT ON PINTEREST!
We are diving DEEP into Pinterest for Business in my FREE Facebook Group: The Dynamic Life Collective. Click the link to join.
Well, guess what! Pinterest is FABULOUS for getting your content out there for more eyeballs to see. You can sponsor ads, You can curate content idea boards for your ideal client, and ultimately connect in a different level than is able on Instagram. Since your Pinterest boards are not a static feed (a la instagram grid), you are more free to curate to your heart’s desire! I’m looking at ya’ll home decor, remodeling, realtors…
As with anything marketing related, It’s really important to know the GOAL of using the platform. For me, I use Pinterest in two ways:
- Traffic to my blog
- To build my email list

Instagram’s algorithm is a bit more exclusive – It’s like a special club that you got a secret invite to, ONLY if you stay IN the club can you come back… No exits, no using other clubs, etc. This is where Pinterest differs greatly. While Your account gets dinged on IG if you send users off the platform, Pinterest allows your account to THRIVE from out bound traffic.

Most of us know, from personal use that Pinterest is a Search Engine (ranked #3 behind Google, Youtube, and then there’s good ole Pinterest). While you may not understand that PPC means pay per clicks (when you can’t not say ‘paper-clips’) is no longer an issue. Pinterest is a Post a Pin for Clicks database, and prettier than Google, IMHO.
Search & discovery is the bread and butter of Pinterest.
& Let me reiterate this little morsel again: Pinterest algorithm benefits those who GET CLICKS! This also means if you’re trying to market to cold markets, Pinterest is your jam! The size of your following does not matter. Pinterest levels the playing field in that regard.
So create your helpful tool, share your valuable content, and GROW.
Pinterest: the SLOW burn of delayed gratification…
Pinterest is NOT instant. It is a SLOW burn… 6-9 months for you to see valuable and usable content to then build a strategy around. As we discussed in the Dynamic Life Collective, platforms like IG, FB, LI are all great for instant gratification and a pouring in of immediate likes. Pinterest is where your content grows to create a snowball effect and push more potential users (who are ready for your info) TO YOUR DOORSTEP.
Investment mindset is very crucial for Pinterest marketing. Long term, sustainable strategy for you to put your content to the most work.
So, are you feeling overwhelmed thinking about the 30 instagram posts you need to batch for this month? TIME TO START CREATING larger scale, high investment content (blog posts, youtube videos, etc) that are packed with information and can then be pinned to pinterest to then have a longer half life. (more on half life of posts here)
2 Types of ‘users’ on Pinterest:
Pinterest users have a DIFFERENT mindset. A Purpose driven mindset and they’re looking for something whether it’s inspiration or an answer, they are ready to search, not just scroll! User centered.
Home (smart) feed scrollers vs Search Feed searchers
- Home = just scrolling, looking for something that stands out and makes them curious
- Search Feed = ready for content, SEARCHING for answers
As with anything marketing related, It’s really important to know the GOAL of using the platform. For me, I use Pinterest in two ways:
- Traffic to my blog
- To build my email list
