Best of 2018 Workout Playlist
I used these songs in my indoor cycling classes, and I will briefly describe each category and how I used the songs, BUT just know that each time I use each song, I could teach it differently – SO, if you’re looking for Indoor Cycling inspiration for your own classes, listen to the song and feel it move you! 🙂 You can also use these for running, and any other workouts! 🙂
Warm up
Perfect for exactly that, warming up. Something with a challenging cadence, but lower gear. Think flat road.
- Call On Me – Ryan Ridback Remix
- Ayo – Chris Brown, Jason Nevins Remix
- My House – Bonics & A-Rock Remix
- Delicate (Seeb Remix) – Taylor Swift
- Better with You (Tep No Remix) – Jesse McCartney
Jog
Standing, potentially with *gasp* choreo – push ups, elbow drops, tap backs, hand hops, etc. DONE WITHIN REASON and safely. Don’t blow up my comments with ‘omg choreo isn’t Johnny G okayed…’ If form is in tact and observed, choreo can be safely added. Keep your weight in your legs and lead with your elbows. LOVE using choreo for active recovery and to put a pep in the swag of the class!
- In This – Nitti Gritti
- Higher – Just Blaze & Bauer
- Drop – G.Eazy + friends
- Crystallize – Lindsey Stirling
- Don’t Let Me Down (Illenium Remix) – The Chainsmokers
Run
Standing, VERY challenging cadence. Lighter gear. IF choreo is done, it’s a slower count (think 2 counts of music for 1 move). Or seated with pops up to standing.
- Pray for Me – The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar
- M.I.L.F. $ – Fergie
- Wop – J Dash
- DJ Turn it Up – Yellow Claw
- Step it Up – GTA, Baauer…
Climb
Get those quads, hammies, glutes a pumping! Heavier gear, slower moderate cadence. Quality of pedal stroke over quantity here. Pro Tip: place your climbs AFTER you’ve smoked them with some jogs and runs out of the saddle. Their legs will be more tired and more readily accept the change that is strength in the climb.
- Tonight Belongs to U! – Jerimih, Flo Rida
- Boy Oh Boy – GTA & Diplo
- Castle On the Hill – Throttle Remix
- Firestone (Ft. Conrad Sewell) – Kygo
- In the Air Tonight – Phil Collins
Sprint
Go Go Speed Racer! Safe cadence of anything UP TO 130rpm. Lighter resistance. Usually seated with potentially half beat active recovery out of the saddle.
- Adagio for Strings (Blasterjaxx Remix) – Tiesto
- King (Arty Remix) – Years & Years, Artem Stolyarov
- I wanna dance with somebody – Fall Out Boy
- Bun up the Dance – Dillon Francis, Skrillex
- Fight for You – Jason Derulo
